Daily wearing and maintenance
Avoid friction and scratches: Although food-grade silicone bracelets have a certain degree of toughness, frequent friction with rough surfaces or being scratched by sharp objects can cause scratches and wear on the surface, affecting both appearance and durability. For instance, when wearing a bracelet, avoid contact with rough clothes, tables, keys, etc. When exercising, try to place the bracelet in a safe position to prevent it from being scratched by sports equipment.
Prevent overstretching: Although silicone is elastic, overstretching can damage the internal structure of the bracelet, reduce its elasticity and even cause it to break. For example, when wearing and taking off the bracelet, do not pull it too hard. If the bracelet is slightly small, you can use a lubricant (such as baby oil) to assist in wearing it instead of pulling it forcefully.
Stay away from chemicals: Chemicals such as cosmetics, perfumes, and cleaning agents may react with silicone, causing the bracelet to discolor, deteriorate or get damaged. After spraying perfume and applying cosmetics, wait for them to dry completely before wearing the bracelet. When doing housework and using cleaning agents, it is best to remove the bracelet first.
Cleaning and maintenance
Regular cleaning: During daily wear, bracelets may accumulate dust, dirt, etc. Regular cleaning can keep them clean and hygienic. Generally, cleaning once a week is sufficient. If the bracelet frequently comes into contact with an environment with a lot of stains, the cleaning frequency can be appropriately increased.
Choose the right cleaner: Use a mild neutral cleaner, such as diluted neutral dishwashing liquid. Avoid using cleaners containing strong acids, strong alkalis or organic solvents to prevent corrosion of the silicone. Add an appropriate amount of detergent to warm water and stir well.
The correct cleaning method: Soak the silicone bracelet in the cleaning solution for a few minutes, then gently wipe the surface with a soft cloth or sponge to remove the stains. For dirt in crevices or dead corners, a soft-bristled toothbrush can be used to gently scrub. Be careful not to apply excessive force to avoid scratching the silicone.
Thoroughly rinse and dry: After cleaning, rinse the bracelet thoroughly with clean water to ensure there is no detergent residue. Then gently dry the moisture with a clean towel or place it in a well-ventilated area to air dry naturally, avoiding direct sunlight to prevent the silicone from aging and becoming brittle.
Storage method
Dry environment: A humid environment can easily cause silicone to absorb moisture, breed bacteria and mold, and lead to the bracelet getting moldy and deteriorating. Bracelets should be stored in dry places, such as dry wardrobes, drawers, etc. Desiccants, such as silica gel desiccants, can be placed in the storage area to absorb moisture from the air.
Store separately: Avoid squeezing or rubbing the bracelet against other jewelry or items to prevent damage. The bracelet can be placed separately in a soft cloth bag or jewelry box to provide protection. If you want to stack them, you can place soft paper or fabric between each layer of the bracelet.
Stay away from high temperatures and strong light: High temperatures can intensify the movement of silicone molecular chains, accelerating aging. Ultraviolet rays in strong light can also cause damage to silicone. Do not store the bracelet near heat sources such as radiators and stoves, nor expose it to sunlight for a long time.
Handling of special circumstances
Stubborn stains: If the bracelet is stained with ink, oil or other stubborn stains, apply a small amount of toothpaste to the stained area, gently scrub it with a soft-bristled toothbrush, and then rinse it clean with water. The abrasives and cleaning ingredients in toothpaste can help remove stains, but it is important to choose mild toothpaste and avoid products with large particles or irritating ingredients.
If the bracelet develops an unpleasant smell due to long-term lack of cleaning or improper storage, it can be soaked in warm water with white vinegar for 15 to 20 minutes. White vinegar has the function of sterilization and deodorization. After soaking, rinse thoroughly with clean water and let it dry.
Slight deformation: If the bracelet shows slight deformation, you can soak it in warm water for a few minutes to soften the silicone, and then gently adjust the shape by hand to restore it to its original state. However, it should be noted that the water temperature should not be too high to avoid damaging the silicone.
